Cordova woman found seriously injured at her home

Shelby County Sheriff's detectives say they still don't know the circumstances of how a Memphis woman suffered severe head injuries at her home today.

Investigators say 47-year-old Dorothy Roberts who lives in the 8200 block of Walnut Creek near Germantown Road , was airlifted to The Med shortly after seven o'clock this morning. An acquaintance found her in the kitchen of her home. Because of the magnitude of her injuries, detectives are investigating any possible cause.

Detectives say although the home was not burglarized, the garage door and the back door of the house were found open when her acquaintance arrived at the house this morning.

This evening, 47-year-old Dorothy Roberts remains at the Med in critical condition. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Shelby County Sheriff's Department Detective Division at 545-5600.
