Kiwanis Club Honors Shelby County Deputy

The Kiwanis Club of Memphis has named Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jason Bartlett, “Memphis Deputy of the Year.” The Kiwanis Club honors a Deputy every year for exemplary service to the community. 

“We are grateful to the Kiwanis Club for honoring Deputy Bartlett.  He is an excellent officer and truly exemplifies the professional standards of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark Luttrell, Jr.

Deputy Bartlett, 33, of Arlington, has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 1997.  He currently serves as a detective in the Narcotics/Street Crimes Bureau of the Sheriff’s Office.  Before that, Detective Bartlett served in the Metro Gang Unit, Patrol and Civil Courts Bureaus. 

 “Detective Bartlett has led several large-scale investigations that involved narcotics, weapons, and violent offenses...Detective Bartlett has also conducted training sessions for neighboring law enforcement agencies...He is a leader and valued member of this team,” said Captain Wayne Goudy, Commander of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics/Street Crimes Bureau.

The Kiwanis Club will honor Deputy Bartlett next Wednesday (September 24), at a noon luncheon at the Fairgrounds.
