Lorenzen Wright's Daughter Dies

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of the eleven-month-old daughter of Memphis Grizzlies basketball player, Lorenzen Wright.

Wright's wife and her cousin were at the home on South Classic Drive this morning and found the child not breathing. Lorenzen Wright had flown to Dallas, Texas to prepare for this evening's basketball game.

Detectives say the mother called 9-1-1 about 10:30, but before an ambulance arrived, decided to take the child to a medical clinic near the home in East Shelby County. Doctors examined the infant and pronounced her dead a short time after arrival.

Investigators say there were no obvious signs of trauma to the baby. The Shelby County Medical Examiner's Office has been asked to determine the cause of death.
