Deputies Search for Restaurant Burglars
Release Date: September 22, 2008
Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for three people who smashed a window at a south-east Shelby County restaurant and stole two flat screen televisions. Detectives believe the suspects may have burglarized another area business as well.
Just before two o’clock last Friday morning, Deputies answered a burglar alarm call at “Chow Time” restaurant at 4207 Hacks Cross Road. Officers found a pick axe on the sidewalk near a window that had been shattered.
Inside, two huge flat screen televisions had been taken off the wall in a customer seating area. The restaurant’s security camera shows one man wearing an over-sized white tee shirt and dark pants smash the window.

Within a few seconds, another suspect wearing a dark colored pull-over, a light blue tee shirt and dark pants helped the other man carry one of the televisions to a gold, late-model Ford Taurus.

Later in the video, a third suspect is seen loading another flat screen television into the car. That suspect was wearing dark clothing.

As the men sped way, their vehicle hit a curb. Deputies believe the Taurus might have damage to the undercarriage.

Sheriff’s detectives believe the suspects may be the same ones responsible for burglarizing the nearby Zaxby’s restaurant at 3825 Hacks Cross Road on the morning of September 14th. A plasma television was taken in that burglary after burglars smashed a window with a brick.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office General Investigation Bureau at (901) 545-5600 or Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).
