Sheriff’s Office hires new Administrator of Finance

Shelby County Sheriff Mark Luttrell, Jr. announced today the appointment of Alberta Fields as Administrator of Finance for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. “Ms. Fields brings with her a wealth of experience and a commitment for excellence,” said Sheriff Mark Luttrell. Alberta Fields currently works as an Accountant in the Department of Finance for Shelby County Government.

In her new role, Ms. Fields will coordinate the budgets of the various operating units of the Sheriff’s Office and will report to Harvey Kennedy, Chief Administrative Officer for the Sheriff’s Office. “I am very excited to be part of Sheriff Luttrell’s team. I’m acquainted with Sheriff Luttrell’s goals of an office based on integrity and sound accounting practices. I’m thrilled for this opportunity,” said Ms. Fields.

Besides her 14 years of service with Shelby County Government, Ms. Fields held accounting positions with First Federal Savings and Loan, Tri-State Bank, Pidgeon Thomas Iron Company and Holiday Inns. She was born in Moscow, Tennessee and moved to Shelby County at an early age and has been a resident ever since. Alberta Fields will begin serving in her new role at the Sheriff’s Office on February 3, 2003. Her annual salary will be $75,000.
