Arlington Convenience Store Robbed

Release Date: November 20, 2006

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for two men who robbed the Citgo Quick Mart in Arlington last night.

Just before eleven o’clock, two men walked into the store at 11933 Highway 70 and briefly appeared to shop for some merchandise.

One of the men asked one of the clerks to show him some phone cards.  When the clerk turned back around, both men were armed.  One had a pistol, the other had a stick.

The clerk was forced to handover his wallet and lie down on the floor while the robbers took an undetermined amount of money from the cash register.

About this time, two customers came into the store.  They were also forced to lie down and were told they would be shot if they looked up.  The robbers took one of the customers’ cell phone.

Before leaving the store, the robbers spotted the stores security system and took the video tape that recorded the robbery.

Deputies are looking for two Hispanic men.

One stood about five feet, nine inches tall, was wearing blue jeans, a blue and white hat and a blue and white jacket.  He was clean-shaven.

The only description of the other robber is that he too was clean-shaven, stood about six feet tall and weighed approximately 250 pounds.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at (901) 545-5600 or Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).
