About 3:30 this afternoon, a CSX train traveling west collided with the tanker truck from the Transport Service Company at the railroad crossing on Jet way near Highway 70.

Deputies say Marlin Liggins, 33, of Memphis, failed to stop for the train as he drove south on Jetway.

There are warning lights at the tracks but no crossing gates.

The truck tractor cleared the tracks but the train hit the trailer filled with liquid sugar.

Liggins, who was wearing his seat belt, was not injured. He been charged with disregarding a railroad crossing.

One of train engines derailed with several other train cars that were hauling automobiles.

Four men, two on separate engines, were injured and taken to The Regional Medical Center. The two men in the lead locomotive are Brain Thompson, 39, of Camden, Tennessee and Allen Frazier, 61, of McKenzie, Tennessee. Both have been released from the hospital.

Those hurt in the second engine are Daniel Allen, 35, of Hollow Rock, Tennessee and James Ralls, 41, of Greenfield, Tennessee. Both are still being treated at the hospital.

Diesel fuel leaked from one of the train engines. The Arlington and Shelby County Fire Departments set up a command post near the crash site.
