Metro DUI Squad Arrests 5 in Germantown Beer Sting

The Metro DUI Squad conducted a beer sting last night in the Germantown area. Officers with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Germantown Police Department comprise the squad.
Twenty-four (24) businesses were checked and officers noted violations at five (5) of the locations. A combination of restaurants, bars, convenience stores, liquor stores and grocery stores were checked. Three (3) misdemeanor citations were issued to clerks for selling/serving alcohol to the under age operant and one (1) physical arrest was made. One (1) misdemeanor citation was issued to a clerk for not checking ID on an adult.
All persons who were issued Misdemeanor Citations will have to go to the Germantown Police Department for booking and processing before April 7, 2008. Those arrested will then appear in Germantown Municipal Court on April 9, 2008.
