Weekend Beer Sting Results In Violations Along Beale Street

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies visited restaurants, bars and vendor stands along Beale Street this past weekend. Employees at five businesses were cited for selling beer to minors. The sting was conducted this past Friday evening and early Saturday morning.

Deputies visited 20 establishments, entering businesses with people under the legal drinking age of 21. Those who sold beer to the young people without verifying their identifications were issued citations. All face misdemeanor charges and must report to jail to be booked and fingerprinted.

Deputies visited Beale Street businesses after receiving reports that beer was being sold to minors at some of the establishments.
