Investigators say the man apparently slipped into the building at 160 North Main through the parking garage door on 2nd Street. The door stays open 24 hours a day for employees who work late and early shifts.

The burglar went to the eighth floor and entered two glass doors that lead into the suite of offices. Several items were taken including a computer projector, MP3 player, and digital camera.

Detectives believe the man had planned to steal other office equipment. Some employees found their computers unplugged. Candy and other supplies had been removed from desks and put into a box which was found on the floor.

Investigators say the man’s image was captured on a security camera. He appears to be in his twenties and wore a yellow and black jacket. The burglar also had on a black hat with white lettering.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2247) or Sergeant Ray Sides with the Sheriff’s Office General Investigation Bureau at (901) 545-4278.
