Deputies Bust Juvenile Burglary Ring

Shelby County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested five teenagers, ages 13 to 16, for a crime spree in the neighborhood where they live in North-East Shelby County.
On July 21st, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 16 year-old boy for burglarizing a house at 4663 Royal View on July 18. Detectives say the teenager took an Xbox 360 electronic game, satellite TV receiver, DVD player and other electronic items.
During the investigation, Deputies linked the suspect to three other boys, all 13 years-old and one girl, 14, who burglarized homes, vandalized mailboxes and broke into vehicles in the Northwood Hills area, near Austin Peay and Covington Pike.
Deputies say the group took cash, laptop computers, bicycles, clothes and other items. Sheriff’s detectives have linked the teenagers to at least ten incidents during the past two months:

Deputies are also looking for another 16 year-old boy who is part of the theft ring.
Detectives say it’s likely the group will be linked to more crimes in and near the Northwood Hills area.
