Burned Body Found

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating the murder of man whose burned body was found in northwest Shelby County on Sunday, November 17.

Sheriff's Office detectives say hunters found the man's body along a gravel road off of Watkins Street, about 100 yards south of the Loosahatchie River bridge. The vacant area is near the Northaven community.

Investigators say the man's body had apparently been set on fire. The Medial Examiner's office will be searching for details about his death as well as his identity. There was no identification on the body.
