Deputy Sheriffs and Deputy Jailers Honored At Ceremony Tonight

The Sheriff’s Office will be honoring Sheriff’s Deputies and Deputy Jailers for their outstanding service at the 2005 Sheriff’s Office “Symbols of Excellence” Award Ceremony tonight, July 21, 2005, at Al Chymia Shrine Temple, 5770 Shelby Oaks Drive, at 7:00 p.m.

The following persons will be receiving awards tonight:

“There is perhaps no higher calling than to serve the community to help keep citizens safe. Among our ranks are some of the finest officers and support staff in the country.

At today’s ceremony, we will take time to pay tribute to those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Many of these persons have exhibited outstanding acts of bravery and heroism.

I urge all citizens of Shelby County to join with me in offering gratitude to those who inspire us with their dedication, professionalism and willingness to risk their lives for the protection of others,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.
