Sheriff’s Office Needs Students For Citizens’ Academy

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for those who would like to be part of the “Citizens’ Academy.” Class #6 will begin April 11th and run through June 13th.

“The ten-week course will be held on Tuesday evenings and on a few Saturdays. Students will see demonstrations, participate in group discussions and attend presentations by officers and staff members from the various divisions,” said Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

  • Homeland Security
  • Patrol Support Services
  • Firing Range

Students must be 21 years old, live or work in Shelby County and pass a criminal background check.

Applications will be accepted through March 3rd. They can be picked up at the Sheriff’s Training Academy at 993 Dovecrest Road or can be mailed by calling (901) 387-5750.
