Shelby County Deputies have charged a man with raping a 14 year-old girl.  Gerald Campbell, 47, of Collierville, was taken into custody yesterday by Sheriff’s Detectives.

Investigators say the young girl is a relative of Campbell.  Detectives said the girl told her mother about the incident which happened yesterday morning.

According to the teenager who lives at the home, Campbell told her to go to his bedroom and watch adult movies.  The teenager said she was then forced to have sex with him.

The teenager told Deputies she went along with Campbell’s demands because he had a pistol.

Deputies recovered the gun and additional evidence at the home.

Gerald Campbell has been charged with Aggravated Rape and is being held this evening in the Shelby County Jail on $150,000 bond.
