Sheriff's Deputies say a grandmother and her young granddaughter were attacked and robbed in their East Shelby County home near Macon and Houston Levee Road last night.

Detectives say about 9:30, two men, both armed, entered the front door of the house in the 10,000 block of Rathmore Cove. Deputies say the front door was not locked.

One of the robbers took packing tape and bound the hands, feet and mouth of Bi Zhao, 51. Her two year-old granddaughter was not harmed.

The men ransacked the home and eventually found cash. Detectives don't believe this was a random crime. Investigators think the intruders knew the family kept cash at the house. Deputies believe the robbers left in a vehicle but no description was available.

Not long after the robbery, Ms. Zhao broke free from the packing tape and ran to a neighbor's house and called for help.

Investigators are not sure of the robbers' race. They wore bandannas over their faces. One of the robbers was heavy-set and stood about 6-1. He had on grey sweat pants and white athletic shoes. The other robber stood about 5-7 and had a thin build.

Deputies ask anyone with information about last night's home invasion in Cordova to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274) or the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at (901) 545-5600.
