Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies have charged a Nashville woman in connection with the robbery of a service station in Arlington this past weekend.
Investigators say Jennifer Rodness, 32, was the look-out for the robbery at the Chevron station at 5055 Airline Road, just before eleven o’clock this past Saturday night.
Deputies believe Heath Lee Simpson, 34, also of Nashville, was the man armed with a knife who robbed the clerk. He and Rodness allegedly left the station with an undetermined amount of money.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Simpson, who may be traveling in the getaway car, a white 2000 Dodge Intrepid, with Tennessee Disabled Driver License tag: TN 72661-DD. Simpson is considered armed and dangerous.
Shelby County Deputies arrested Jennifer Rodness yesterday evening about four o’clock after they were contacted by investigators with the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office.
Rodness was in the Haywood County Jail while being questioned about another convenience store robbery in Stanton, Tennessee, earlier this week.
Haywood County detectives say the Davis Quick-Stop in Stanton was robbed on August 29th, just after Noon.
Deputies said Rodness had called them to her motel room in Stanton after the robbery and said she was being held against her will by Simpson.
However, during questioning, Rodness admitted the kidnapping story was a hoax.
Jennifer Rodness not been charged with the robbery in Stanton. But, she does face the Aggravated Robbery charge for the Arlington convenience store hold-up.
She is being held at Jail East, the Shelby County for Women, at 6201 Haley Road, in East Memphis.
Anyone with information about Heath Lee Simpson is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274) or Sergeant Faith Cunningham at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at (901) 545-5600.
