Shelby County Jail Corrections Deputy Arrested For Alleged Domestic Violence

A Shelby County Corrections Deputy was arrested early this morning after allegedly attacking his wife. Ronnie Ware, 28, who's been a Corrections Deputy since March 1998, was taken into custody shortly after midnight.

Investigators say one of Ware's children called 9-1-1 during the altercation between Ware and his wife. Before Sheriff's Deputies arrived at the home, Ware apparently left the house. He was later arrested at another relative's home. Detectives say Ware's wife reported that he hit her on the face and injured her arm. Paramedics were called to check her injuries but she did not have to go to the hospital.

Ware is a transport officer and is responsible for keeping jail inmates in custody who have to leave the facility for medical or other reasons. Ware has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
