Sheriff’s Deputies Graduate This Wednesday Night

Twenty-four (24) Deputies will graduate from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy this Wednesday evening, July 12, 2006.

 “We are pleased to graduate these Deputies from the academy.  They have demonstrated their dedication to serve the community and we are grateful to have them with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office,” said Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.

Deputies have been training for the past 18 weeks which included the use of firearms, physical agility, knowledge of Tennessee Law and Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures.

This Wednesday night’s ceremony will be held at the Bartlett Performing Arts Center at 3663 Appling Road, Bartlett, Tennessee, at 7:00 p.m.

The new Deputies will be assigned to the Patrol Division.  Including the new graduates, the Sheriff’s Office will now have 507 commissioned officers and command staff assigned to various bureaus.
