Sheriff’s Office Sponsors Regional Dog Squad Competition

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit is sponsoring the United States Police Canine Association’s Regional Competition this week.

On Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7, dog squads from 25 law enforcement agencies will gather in Memphis for the event.

The two-day competition will be held at the First Assembly of God Church at 8650 Walnut Grove.

The teams will compete Tuesday, June 6 from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m.
On Wednesday, the competition begins at 7 a.m. and concludes at 2 p.m.

The law enforcement agency dogs will be judged for their physical agility, obedience and their skills in apprehending and searching suspects.
