Shelby County Deputy Jailer Arrested For Domestic Assault

A Shelby County Deputy Jailer has been relieved of duty after being arrested late last night by the Memphis Police Department for assaulting a fellow Deputy Jailer.

Neither of the officers was on duty when the incident happened at a home in the 3700 block of Vernon Avenue just before midnight.

When Memphis Police Officers arrived at the scene, they found Arthur Frost, 27, with scratches on his chest and neck. Witnesses told officers Takisha Porter, also 27, had threatened to cut the tires of Frost's car and throw bleach on him.

Frost, who was not arrested, suffered only minor injuries. Ms. Porter was taken to Jail East and charged with Domestic Assault.

Both Porter and Frost have served as Deputy Jailers at the Sheriff's Office since 2001.
