Shots Fired At Deputies During Drug Raid in Frayser Today

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Deputies were shot at today as they attempted to serve a warrant for drugs at a home in Frayser. Deputies had been given information that narcotics were inside the house at 3563 Sutton Drive.

Just after nine o’clock this morning, Deputies went to the front porch of the house and identified themselves as members of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.

Deputies yelled several times for someone at the house to open the front door. After no one opened the door, Deputies forced their way into the home.

Just as they went in, shots were fired at them from the rear of the house. Deputies returned fire. As Deputies moved through the house a second round of shots were fired at them. Deputies again returned fire.

No one was injured in the brief shoot-out. The six people in the house quickly surrendered. Deputies took all of them into custody. So far, no charges have been filed.

Labs tests will be conducted to determine which person shot at the Deputies. Investigators found marijuana, an assault rifle and a pistol inside the house.
