2nd Person Charged In East Memphis Drug Raid By Deputies

Release Date: May 19, 2006

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies say another person has now been charged in connection with a raid at a home on Rich Road in East Memphis yesterday.

Today, Marcello Arsura, 43, who lives at 5178 Rich Road, faces federal drug charges placed by the D.E.A. Deputies took him into custody about 11:30 yesterday after they visited his home looking for another man wanted on drug charges.

Investigators found an array of drugs inside Arsura’s home including:

  • 19 grams of methamphetamine wrapped in individual bags prepared for distribution
  • Approximately 72 ecstasy pills
  • Approximately 49 Loritab pills
  • 4.3 grams of cocaine
  • Scales used to weigh the drugs

Along with Arsura, deputies arrested Justin Davis, 26, of Memphis. Davis was being sought on drug charges stemming from his arrest last month. On April 11, deputies raided his home on Elzey Street in Memphis. They found marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription drugs in the house.

When taken into custody yesterday, Davis had methamphetamine in one of his pockets.

He was charged with possession of illegal drugs.

Two other girls who were at Arsura’s home were questioned by deputies but later released without being charged. Marcello Arsura’s picture is not available at this time.
