Sheriff’s Deputies identify one suspect in recent kidnapping and robbery of two people in East Shelby County

Detectives with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office believe they know the identity of one of two men who allegedly kidnapped and robbed two people at their apartment in East Shelby County earlier this week.
Two men confronted a man and woman in the parking lot of their apartment community on Highway 64 near Interstate 40 about two o’clock this past Wednesday morning.
Investigators need your help in finding 25-year-old Lawrence M. Walker of Memphis.
Walker is wanted on:
- 2 counts-Especially Aggravated Kidnapping
(restricting someone’s movement and threatening their life with a deadly weapon)
- 2 counts-Aggravated Burglary
(entering someone’s home)
- 2 counts-Aggravated Robbery
(taking property from someone’s home)
The victims said the suspects forced them inside their apartment, stole $1500 in cash, and took several personal items. Deputies arrived shortly after the incident and chased the two suspects for several miles. The two men bailed out of their truck at an apartment building at the intersection of Mt. Moriah and Hickory Hill.
Investigators are also looking for the other man who they believe assisted Walker in the crime. He’s an African American man, in his 20’s and stands about 180 pounds.
