Suspect Sought In Easthaven Area Shooting

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for the person who shot a woman outside her south Shelby County home last evening.

Detectives say the woman’s family heard gunshots about 9:30. They found Lenora Jones, 37, in her car. She had been wounded by at least three bullets as she sat in her driveway at 3476 Cloudland. Ms. Jones was taken to the Regional Medical Center where she remains in critical condition today.

Deputies had been to Ms. Jones’ house earlier in the day yesterday. About 2:00 p.m., Ms. Jones’ daughter reported a neighbor had threatened her and her mother. Investigators are not sure whether that incident and the shooting are related.

Detectives say that they don’t have a motive for the shooting. No money or other valuables were taken from Ms. Jones.
