Family Feud Leads To Shooting in Arlington

Shelby County Sheriff’s detectives have charged a man for shooting his cousin after an argument.
On Saturday, June 26, 2004, detectives say Thomas Cook, 37, was shot by his cousin, Wayne Wherry, 56. Investigators say the two shared a home at 5715 Lamb Road in Arlington. Relatives said the two men had argued most of day about various family matters.
Just after 10 p.m, Cook was shot on the front porch of the house. Investigators say Wherry admitted shooting his cousin with a 22 rifle. Thomas Cook was airlifted to the Region Medical Center where he is in stable condition.
Wayne Wherry was charged with Aggravated Assault and remains in the Shelby County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
