Fatal Accident

Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies say this evening one man was killed in a head-on collision in the Arlington Community near the intersection of Forest and Griffin.

The crash occurred late this afternoon. It involved a station wagon and a commercial trash truck. Witnesses say the station wagon going west on Forest apparently crossed the centerline of the street and hit the truck head on just east of Griffin road.

The driver of the station wagon was killed. The driver of the truck was only slightly injured and did not go to the hospital.

Deputies say it's too early in the investigation to know whether alcohol or drugs were involved. More information will be released, as it becomes available.
