Shelby County Sheriff’s Gang Unit Deputies captured a Shelby County Corrections Center inmate who escaped yesterday from a work detail.
Keith Ingram, 35, serving time for Violation of Probation regarding a Theft of Property $500-$1000 charge, was arrested about 6:30 last evening, five hours after he left the work detail.
About 1:30 yesterday afternoon, Ingram was cutting grass with other inmates at the intersection of Old Dominion at Germantown Road in South East Shelby County.
He jumped into a Shelby County Roads and Bridges pick up truck and sped away. A trailer loaded with a welder’s torch and two weedeaters was hitched to the truck.
Gang Unit Deputies tracked Ingram to the South Memphis area where they arrested him at a house in the 2100 block of Erie.
Deputies also found the Shelby County truck about a mile away parked on Twain near the intersection of Twain at Jonah. The trailer, welder’s torch and the two weedeaters were not with the truck and are still missing.
Ingram was charged with Escape from Felony Incarceration and Theft of Property $10,000-$60,000.
