The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will be graduating 18 Reserve Deputies tonight.

The Reserve Deputies have been part of a six-month training course which included 460 hours of firearms training, physical agility, and Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures. The Reserve Deputies will be immediately assigned to the Patrol Division.
The graduation ceremony will be held TONIGHT, November 23, 2004, at Al Chymia Shrine Temple, 5770 Shelby Oaks Drive, Memphis, Tennessee, at 7 p.m.
With tonight’s graduation, the Sheriff’s Office will now have 148 Reserve Deputies on the force. Another Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputy class is planned for early 2005.
Also graduating at tonight’s ceremony will be two officers from other police departments, Bartlett and Atoka. Since June, they have trained alongside of the Reserve Deputies at the Sheriff’s Office Training Academy.
