Deputies Search For Invaders of East Shelby County Home

Release Date: September 23, 2005

Detectives with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office are looking for three men who they believe entered a home in East Shelby County earlier this month and stole a safe that contained cash.

It happened on September 1, 2005, about 7:30 p.m. Family members told investigators they heard a back door open near the garage of the home in the 600 block of Woodland Trace. They were then confronted by three masked men armed with guns.

The men tied up two children and their mother in the garage. One of the suspects then forced the father of the family to go to a bedroom and give them a safe. While the robbery was happening, another child, taking a shower, was not harmed.

After taking the safe, the suspects drove away in a dark blue or purple Ford compact car with a sparkled metal-flake paint job. Here are descriptions of the three men:

  • Suspect one-black, 20-22 years of age, 165 pounds, brown eyes, black ski mask, hair in corn rows, thin build, last seen in a brown shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
  • Suspect two-black, 20-22 years of age, 190 pounds, brown eyes, black ski mask, thin build, last seen in a tee-shirt shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
  • Suspect three-black, 20-22 years of age, 320 pounds, heavy build, brown eyes, black ski mask, white tee-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Detectives are hoping anyone with information about the case will call the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at (901) 545-5600 or Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2247).
