Recent Home Invasion Suspect Caught On Security Camera After Another Crime

Shelby County Sheriff's Office investigators now have a picture of the man believed to be the person responsible for a home invasion earlier this week in East Shelby County.

A lady reported a man knocked on her door, flashed a law enforcement badge and then barged into her home in the 8700 Block of River Wood Farms Parkway this past Wednesday. The man was armed and threatened to rob her. As the man attempted to kidnap the woman and drive her to a bank teller machine, a real estate agent who was scheduled to meet the woman pulled up into the driveway and scared off the intruder.

Investigators now know after running from the woman's house, the suspect went to another house in the Riverwood Farms neighborhood. The garage door of the house was open and the suspect hid inside of a storage room. While there, he changed clothes and climbed into a van. He remained there for a few hours. About five o'clock p.m. , the owner took the vehicle for gasoline to a nearby convenience store at the intersection of Germantown Road at Walnut Bend.

When the van stopped, the suspect arose from the back of the vehicle, pointed a pistol at the driver and his two sons, and demanded to be let out because the doors were locked. As the suspect ran north on Germantown Road from the van, the security camera at the convenience store took his picture. Investigators need help identifying the suspect.

• About 35 years old
• Brown hair
• Goatee
• 160 pounds
• Peach colored shirt
• Dark pants
