Release Date: March 19, 2004

Martin C. FunkhouserShelby County sheriff’s detectives have charged the other person they believe was involved in last weekend’s home invasion in east Shelby County.

Late this afternoon, investigators charged Martin Funkhouser, 47, of Memphis, with aggravated robbery.

Officers say Funkhouser assisted James Thweatt, 38, of Memphis, and Cindy Wilson, 29, of Memphis, when they tied up and robbed the owner of a home in 2300 block of Meadow Ridge in the Cordova area this past Saturday evening.

Investigators have linked James Thweatt with another home invasion in the Raleigh area the very next day . In that robbery on Sunday, Thweatt was shot by the homeowner. Tweatt remains at The Med recovering from the gun shot wound.

Detectives say the suspects plotted a scheme that called for Thweatt to pose as a delivery man before forcing himself into the victims’ homes.
