Release Date: August 17, 2005
Shelby County Narcotics Detectives raided a house on Wildwood Drive near Rhodes and Getwell in Memphis this past weekend. They recovered thousands of dollars worth of marijuana, prescription drugs and several weapons including a submachine gun.
Just after 6:15 Sunday evening, Narcotics and S.W.A.T. Team Deputies, armed with a search warrant for the drugs, knocked on the door of the house in the 4000 block of Wildwood Drive. After receiving no answer, officers forced their way into the house and found two men and a young girl hiding inside.
While searching the house belonging to Tyrone “Cream” McCoy, 31, Deputies found 300 Xanax pills hidden in a shoebox in a bedroom closet along with 4,000 Hydrocodone pills, known by the prescription drug name, Lortab.
Investigators also found more than $2150 dollars in cash hidden in a bedroom closet along with three guns which included a submachine gun.
Both McCoy and Henry Crawford, 33, of Houston, Texas, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, deliver or sell narcotics. They were also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
