Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies say a human skull and some other bones were found in a wooded area in South-East Shelby County this afternoon.

Investigators say a hunter found the bones along Reynolds Road just south of Shelby Drive just after 4 o'clock. No clothes or other personal items were found with the bones.

Volunteers with the Shelby County Emergency Services Bureau will be searching the area in the morning with specially trained dogs that detect human remains.

The skull and the other bones were taken to the Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Office for possible identification.
