Shelby County Jail Inmate Death Ruled Suicide

The Shelby County Medical Examiner has ruled suicide as the cause of an inmate’s death at the Shelby County Jail last week.

Investigators say Binh Lam Ho, 23, used a bed sheet to hang himself.

On September 13, 2006, as Deputy Jailers made their rounds, they found Ho about 11:30 a.m. collapsed on the floor of his one-inmate cell at the men’s facility at 201 Poplar.

Members of the Shelby County Jail Medical Staff were immediately contacted but were not able to revive him.
