News Conference TODAY regarding the Shelby County Jail

WHAT: The State of Tennessee has granted Certification to the Shelby County Jail for meeting correctional facility operating standards.

WHERE: Criminal Justice Center-201 Poplar Avenue-Sheriff's Administrative Conference Room-9th Floor

WHEN: Friday, January 30, 2004 at 1:00 p. m.

For the first time in 15 years, the State of Tennessee has awarded certification to the Shelby County Jail based on a review of operating standards and procedures.

Shelby County Sheriff Mark Luttrell, Jr. and members of the Shelby County Jail administrative staff will discuss the certification and its relevance to the inmates and staff at the jail.
