The Shelby County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team spread some “holiday cheer” today by giving a donation to the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation.

Sheriff Mark Luttrell presented $2500 to “Make-A-Wish” on live radio. Radio personalities Ron Olson and Karen Perrin from WMC-FM (FM 100) accepted the check and thanked the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team and their commander, Lieutenant Andy Boyd, for the donation.

“It's important we support community initiatives such as Make-A-Wish. I commend the Deputies on our SWAT Team for their assistance in raising money for children who suffer from catastrophic illnesses.”

This was the tenth year the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team assisted in the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation drive. “Being able to help these children certainly encouraged all of us. We are happy we could help these children better celebrate the holidays,” added Lieutenant Boyd.
