North Shelby County Man Found Dead In Swimming Pool

Shelby County Sheriff’s Detectives say a man who lived near Millington apparently drowned last evening when he fell into his backyard swimming pool.

Investigators say the body of Danny White, 59, who lived in the 5900 block of Baileys Creek Cove, was found by his wife early this morning.

Mrs. White had been away visiting a relative when she returned home last evening. She went to bed and awakened about three o’clock. She realized her husband was not in the room.

She searched the house and then went out to the swimming pool area. She noted a tarp covering the swimming pool had been pulled back. That’s when she saw her husband’s body in the pool.

Detectives believe Mr. White had been blowing leaves from around the pool deck with a gas powered leaf blower when he fell into the pool. The blower was still strapped to his back when his wife found his body.

The Shelby County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Mr. White’s death
