Millington Man Found Dead Near Frayser
Release Date: May 30, 2006
Shelby County Sheriff’s Detectives believe a man found this weekend on a dirt road near Frayser was murdered.
Investigators say the body of Daniel Darby, 48, of Millington, was discovered by an all-terrain-vehicle rider near the dead end of Benjestown just after 4 o’clock on Saturday, May 27.
Deputies learned Darby had gone to the area near the river with a group of friends frequented by fishermen and ATV riders.
Investigators say it appears Darby had been struck in the head. The Shelby County Medical Examiner, however, will determine the cause of death once an autopsy is completed.
So far, no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information about what might had happened to Daniel Darby is asked to call the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at (901) 545-5600.
