Release Date: March 22, 2005
Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for the person responsible for killing a man at his home early this morning.
Just after midnight, detectives say Mario Stewart, 28, who lived in the 4800 block of Calloway Hills Drive near Hacks Cross at Shelby Drive, called 9-1-1 saying he had been shot.

He was taken by helicopter to the Regional Medical Center and died a short time later.
Stewart’s two children who were in the house, a three-year-old boy and a six-year-old boy, were not hurt.
Detectives say they have not established a motive for the killing.
Just after the shooting, a neighbor reported seeing a man with a dark complexion running south from the house wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
No other suspect information is available.
