Deputies and other officers on the Metro DUI Squad conducted an enforcement effort on roadways throughout Shelby County last night.

Officers with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the Germantown Police Department comprise the Metro DUI Squad.

A grant from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office funded the enforcement effort, which paid for officers to work overtime. Here are the results of the traffic safety initiative:

• Speeding — 46
• Seatbelt — 9
• Driver’s License — 1
• State Registration — 6
• Disregarding a stop sign — 20
• Other County Moving Violations — 5
• Other County Non-Moving Violations — 4
