Millington Man Killed In Traffic Crash
Release Date: March 18, 2005
Investigators with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division say a Millington man was killed early today when he lost control of the pickup truck he was driving.
Deputies say Darryll W. Robinson, 49, who lived on Bass Road, was the only person in the 1988 blue Toyota truck. A passerby contacted the Sheriff’s Office just before two o’clock this morning after noticing Robinson’s pick up which had apparently struck a tree.
Investigators say the crash happened on Armour Road just south of Aycock. Robinson died of his injuries at the scene. Deputies say Robinson was not wearing a seat belt. The Shelby County Medical Examiner will be conducting toxicology tests to see if alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.
This is the first traffic fatality investigated by the Sheriff’s Office in 2005. At this time last year, Deputies had investigated traffic crashes that had killed eleven people.
