Motorcycle Crash Kills Millington Man

The driver of a motorcycle was killed this past Saturday evening (July 29) on Brunswick Road in North-East Shelby County.

Traffic Deputies say Michael DeLong, 26, of Millington, was riding his Honda motorcycle north in the 7600 block of Brunswick Road near Millington-Arlington Road when he lost control in a curve and hit a utility pole.

He was alone on the motorcycle.  No other vehicles were involved. Investigators say speed was apparently a factor in the fatal crash.

Routine blood tests were conducted to see if alcohol was involved.

This was the first motorcycle fatality in 2006 investigated by Traffic Deputies.
