Deputies believe the little girl was taken by her mother early this morning. The mother, however, does not have custody of the child and relatives say she suffers from a medical condition and has not taken her medicine.
Sheriff’s detectives say the missing child, Shanetha Olivia White, lives in the 10,000 block of North Green Moss Drive with her mother and grandmother.
The child’s grandmother, Carolyn Atkinson, 47, believes her daughter, Shadria White, 26, took the little girl sometime between one o’clock and eleven this morning.
Ms. Atkinson told Sheriff’s detectives her daughter does not have a car and that someone must have come to the house in East Shelby County to pick up the child and her mother. Ms. Atkinson believes the two may be traveling by bus to either Atlanta, Georgia or New York, New York.
