Deputies Search For Missing Minister
Release Date: July 18, 2005
Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for a minister that has been missing from his home in the Cordova area since this past Friday, July 15, 2005.
Investigators say Richard Grant, 54, last had contact with his family about Noon on Friday. Grant told relatives he was going to a job interview but apparently never showed up for the appointment. Grant’s wife, who was out of town on Friday attempted to contact him several times and after not being able to reach him, called Deputies.
On Saturday, Deputies went to Grant’s home on Albon Cove in Cordova but he was not there. Yesterday, investigators again talked with Grant’s family and filed a missing person’s report. Missing person reports are usually filed on adults missing after 72 hours unless there is evidence of foul play.
Richard Grant pastors the Abundant Living Christian Church at 2956 East Street in Raleigh. He has served the church for six years.
Family members say no clothes or personal items are missing from Grant’s home and they have no idea where he may be.
Richard Grant is a black man, with a shaved head and a full beard. He stands about 5’6 and weighs approximately 180 pounds.
Anyone seeing Richard Grant is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH or the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at (901) 545-5600.
