Sheriff’s detectives believe Funzie and Kenneth Hobson, 24, also of Memphis, terrorized and robbed the family in Lakeland at the Relax Inn earlier this year.

Investigators say this past February 25th members of the Robert Callaway family of Buffalo, New York had rented a room at the motel on Canada Road near Interstate 40.

Just after 1:30 that afternoon, Robert Callaway told Deputies two men walked into their room armed with guns.  The door of the room had been left open.

Callaway said the two men threatened the man, his wife, children and in-laws.

During the robbery, Robert Callaway was pistol whipped. The two suspects got away with the victims’ cash, debit cards, and electronic games.

The very next day the Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit arrested Kenneth Hobson at his Memphis apartment.  Hobson was charged with Aggravated Robbery.

Clifton Funzie is a member of the Vice Lords gang and has been charged with Aggravated Robbery.

Both he and Hobson are being held at the Shelby County Jail.  Hobson is being held on $150,000 bond and Funzie’s bond is $40,000.
