Shelby County Sheriff's Office Traffic Investigators say a man was killed this afternoon after his motorcycle crashed into a parked vehicle.

It happened just after 3 o'clock in southeast Shelby County.  Deputies say Dale Crawford, II, 24, of Memphis, was going south on Calloway Hills Drive when he lost control of the motorcycle near Mineral Crest.

As the motorcycle rounded a curve, it hit a van parked on the right side of the road.  No one was in the van.

Crawford was air lifted to The Regional Medical Center where he died.  Deputies say speed was a factor in the crash.  There was no evidence of alcohol use at the crash scene.
