Motorcyclist dies in head-on crash in East Shelby County

Traffic Investigators with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office say a 43-year-old Cordova man was killed yesterday following a late afternoon motorcycle accident. Investigators say 43-year-old Charles M. O’Briant of Cordova was killed when his motorcycle collided with a pick-up truck.

The motorcycle was traveling north on Collierville-Arlington Road near the Fishersville community when it veered into the opposing lane of traffic just before 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon. The driver of the truck, 37 year-old Jerry Estes of Memphis was not seriously injured.

Deputies say they do not believe speed or alcohol caused the crash. As a result, no charges will be filed.
