Shelby County Deputies Continue Search For Mississippi Truck Driver

James TateShelby County Sheriff’s Detectives say they still have few clues about the disappearance of a south Mississippi man whose abandoned tractor-trailer was found in East Shelby County six months ago.

Deputies are looking for James H. Tate, Jr, 34, of Tylertown, Mississippi. Tate is employed by a Memphis trucking firm. Family members last spoke to him by phone on December 16, 2004 but have not heard from him since.

The next day, the trailer he was hauling was found by Bartlett Police along Brunswick Road near Highway 64. Then a day later, the truck cab was found on a vacant lot along Berryhill near Raspberry not far from Macon Road.

Relatives say they have continued phoning Tate on his cell phone but no calls have been returned.

James Tate is a black man, stands 5’11 and weighs approximately 155 pounds. Investigators do not have a clothing description.
