Beer Sting During Music Fest Results In Violations

Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies visited vendor stands at the Beale Street Music Festival at Tom Lee Park and businesses along Beale Street this past weekend.

Undercover Deputies visited 15 vendor stands and bars. Eight people were cited for selling beer to those under the legal drinking age of 21. The sting was conducted this past Saturday night.

Those who sold beer to the young people were issued citations. All face misdemeanor charges and must report to jail to be booked and fingerprinted.

Deputies visited the music festival and the businesses along Beale Street after receiving reports that beer was being sold to people under the legal drinking age at some of the vendor stands and drinking establishments.

Deputies say the undercover beer stings will be on-going.
